This island is connected to the primary land by the Micheal Davitt Bridge since 1886. We are 75Km from Castlebar; from there you take the N59 to Mulranny and then the R319 from there to Achill Island. Keel is approx. 15 Kilometer from Achill Sound where you cross the Michael Davitt Bridge. Please remember if you're using GPS systems do not go through Westport unless it is desired. Easiest route is from Castlebar--Newport--Mulranny Achill Sound. br |
