Carrigeen Castle B&B Description:

This building is an historical home that was once a prison and developed between the years 1600 to 1800. It is a relaxing and expansive home with a commanding view over the town of Cahir enclosed with walled gardens. numerous of the original highlights of Carrigeen Castle benefit from been maintained. We are close bus and train stations. The Castle is architecturally listed and has been in family ownership since 1919.

The room was nice enough and everything was clean, but I'm glad we only stayed one night here. There was a sign in the bathroom that asked visitors not to shower between 10:30 at night and 7:00 in the morning. Ok no problem. But what the sign really seemed to mean was don't leave your room betwen 10:30 and 7:00 or you will be publically chastised at breakfast for being up and using the facilities at 5am till 7am. Also the rooms only locked from the outside so you couldn't lock the door at night before going to bed. I'm pretty sure if we stayed another night we would have been locked in so we couldn't "shower" before 7 the next day.
