I made the below reservation. I had been looking for a family room for a married couple with 2 small children and a triple room for 3 adults. On the search engine I was unable to find what I was looking for and I finally booked 2 double rooms instead of the family room which meant splitting up the family. On arrival at the hotel I discovered that I had a family room and a double room. On explaining to Mr. Dore that the family room was sufficient for my necessities I was told that as I had reserved the hotel through the search engine and not directly with him then I was obliged to pay for the 2 rooms even when I only used one of them. He gave me all sorts of explanations including the commission that he would pay for the rooms reserved over the search engine which of course to me as a customer is completey irrelevant. I was finally told that if he managed to fill the hotel that night he would return me the money (10 free rooms). More information completely irrelevant to me. I found the whole situation completely unprofessional, a bad image for Ireland as I was travelling with foreigners. All in very country bumkin style. My husband found Mr. Dore impolite and unfriendly, he tried to give the impressive of being efficient but he wasn't. For breakfast there was a buffet but instead of a full Irish breakfast there was the option of 2 fried eggs. The idea was to get rid of the breakfast a.s.a.p. On leaving the hotel I asked Mr. Dore if he had reconsidered and he told me he hadn't and began to give me again more explanations. I told him I didn't want more explanations but that I would not be recommending his hotel and that I would be filing a complaint. He responded that he supposed that I would. An easy solution to this would have been to say that the family room cost so much more than the double room and refund me the difference without entering into an unpleasant situation with the customer on arrival.

We were looking for a mid week deal that was a good deal,the room rate was that but we had to pay on check in, receptionist barely spoke english, no proper breakfast next morning, bar food only, no tea / coffee facilites with the room! spotless, bar man was a gem, dont know if i would go back! its location was ideal just not up to scratch elsewhere.
