Tearmancarragh Lake and district is an EU Special vicinity of Conservation because of its well known status as a Bird Sanctuary. take joy in the special opportunity to picturesque sights of the vista rare and common bird species at your own back door. Sea fishing, river and lake angling for salmon or trout is in the immediate vicinity; and the entire vicinity abounds with endless opportunities for the strolling enthusiast. The quaint costal town of Belmullet is 8 Kilometer away and retains all the affectionate charisma of an uncommercialised West of Ireland town. Remember to wave in salute to all you meet on the roadway for in this place there are no strangers but only 'friends' you haven't met yet. Restaurants in Belmullet, Geesala and at Carne Golf Club will cater for your sea air induced appetite.
