The Old Bank Bed and Breakfast Description:

Lough Gur is just 2 miles from the home with crannogs, church sites, megalithic tombs, stone circles and ring forts to be seen. Ballyhoura mountain bike Park is 8 miles away with loop paths for all cyclists. roadway Cycling Loops are well developed with hundreds of miles of lanes. Guided strolling can be arranged, at least 2 strolls on Sundays. The home is 20 minute car ride to 5 magnificent golf courses. perfectly positioned for day tours to the south of Ireland and the cliffs of Moher.

Our stay at the Old Bank was wonderful. Miriam was a thoughtful and eager host, recommending many good things to do. We stayed there as a way to be able to drive to sites along the western coast of Ireland on a vacation and it was a good choice. The room was indeed spacious, as described (especially by European standards), very clean, well appointed and breakfast was excellent. We would stay there again in a heartbeat! However, if you mind street noises, ask for a room facing the back. But the street quietened down by 10:30 at night, so it really isn't a great problem. Otherwise, the rooms were quiet. There is a very fine library with a fireplace and TV where once can relax in the afternoon (or anytime, really). We were able to relax in our room, which had a sofa. We appreciated that.

Booking very easy and owner very accommodating and receptive. Offered ideas for travel and sight seeing. Town small but very freindly. Breakfast was very good. We all had a great time.
