Tralee is notorious for the intercontinental Rose of Tralee competition held every August. The town contains attractive nineteenth Century buildings and a host of conveniences , for example - the Aqua Dome, Kerry County Museum, Siamsa Tire, the National Folk theater of Ireland, an 80 acre town park, cinema and greyhound racing track. Golf, sailing, strolling and fishing are all in close proximity from this starting point of the Dingle Peninsula. Blennerville Windmill, connected to Tralee by the Tralee and Dingle Steam Railway, is the biggest working windmill in the country. 12 Kilometer from Tralee is Fenit Harbour, marina and sailing club, birthplace of Kerry's patron saint, St Brendan. |
